In 2015 we made the bold decision to purchase a flat close to The Royal Marsden Hospital with the soul aim of using it as a base for families of teenage patients having treatment. Without a doubt it has been the best investment we have made and the feedback we have had from patients and their families has been so overwhelming that we wanted to share of their stories here. Please see a selection below.

Thank you for providing a place for patients to stay with family. My treatment requires me to be in hospital for a long period and being able to stay in this flat rather than hospital is much better. My mum/sister and I are very thankful. Thanks

We are incredibly grateful to have been given the opportunity to stay in this flat for three weeks while our child underwent a bone marrow transplant.
We don’t drive and live in Brighton. With the train strikes and bad weather over the Christmas period there would been no way for us to have been together as a family at all. The flat meant I could be close by when my son was seriously ill instead of worrying at home with no way of coming here.

It was such a relief to be able to use the flat. Living near Canterbury and driving the M25 each day was just adding to our nightmare. I will hopefully be able to repay you with the Sponsored things that we have in mind. Forever thankful.

Thank you so much. Living so far away staying in this beautiful flat made our time so much more comfortable. The flat is so convenient for the hospital and lovely to stay in. Thanks for always allowing us to stay.

This quiet peaceful flat with a lovely view of the common, short walk from the village and hospital made my weeks of daily radiotherapy more bearable and made it easier to be away from home. Thank you so much for providing this and letting me stay here.

I’ve never lived on my own having always someone in the house but I had to be here on my own due to family schedules and The Marsden being so far away. This is my 3rd stay and it’s started to feel like a second home. I always feel relaxed here, my mind is always switched off – and I thoroughly enjoyed the time I had with myself – fending for myself. I felt less like the burden cancer has mad me and a lot more capable. Thank you for providing this.

Once again, we made great use of the flat for a 3 day stay involving scans and chemo so that we didn’t need to go back and forth. We’ve made a donation to the trust as it’s so fantastically provided for us. Thanks. V&L
14/02/2022 – Valentines Day
Me and my partner live over 2.5 hours away so having this flat available to us was wonderful as we didn’t need to get up at the crack of dawn to get down here.
It’s such a lovely thing to do and we are most appreciative and grateful. We had a very pleasant evening and despite having to have chemo today, I feel very rested and relaxed.
We will definitely be do donating to Emma’s Bubble Trust so you can keep helping others. Thank you!

My Son’s daily treatment for radio/chemotherapy would not of been possible without your hospitality in Emma’s Bubble Trust, as we live on the Isle of Sheppey.
The distance to the hospital has also allowed us to walk each day for exercise, once again reducing fuel usage.
Thank you so much for letting us benefit from Emma’s legacy. I am sure that she is proud of all those involved in keeping her name alive, helping so many.
A big thank you for the tree and present at Christmas, it was very touching and so, so very much appreciated.
My son’s treatment is for a brain tumour which could not be completely removed through surgery.
P.S. Please also pass my thanks on also to the company supporting with the WiFi. That was such a relief to find when we got here. The thought of a teenager without internet for 6 weeks was understandably worrying me (let alone my own contact with life outside therapy).
