Patrons

The trustees of Emma's Bubble Trust are honoured to have Tim Brabants and Paul Hodgson, two high profile international sportsmen, on board as patrons.

Tim Brabants

Tim Brabants MBE BMedSci (Hons) BMBS (Notts)

Tim is one of the UK's "golden generation" of Olympic athletes, having won gold and bronze medals at the 2008 Beijing games in the kayak K1 1,000 m and 500 m events respectively, and a bronze at the Sydney games in 2004.

Tim was born in 1977 in Walton on Thames in Surrey, and started his career in "paddling" in 1987 at Elmbridge Rowing Club.

As well as doing all of the training necessary to be a world class athlete, Tim has also (somehow) found the time to study and is a qualified doctor, with a degree in medical science from Nottingham.

Tim is based in Nottingham and is a member of the Nottingham and Royal Canoe clubs.

Paul was born in 1982 in Epsom, Surrey and went to Glyn Boys' School. Paul soon became a lively, spiky scrum half renowned for his cover defence and speed of movement, and represented successful local side Sutton & Epsom before turning professional with Bristol Shoguns.

Paul joined current club London Irish in 2004, and is now established as the club's #1 scrum half. Paul has just been confirmed as a member of the full England squad for the 2009-10 season.

Affectionately known as "Dodge" by his many friends, Paul still lives locally in Ewell with girlfriend Trudi.
