Tim Brabants MBE BMedSci (Hons) BMBS (Notts)
Tim is one of the UK's "golden generation" of Olympic athletes, having won gold and bronze medals at the 2008 Beijing games in the kayak K1 1,000 m and 500 m events respectively, and a bronze at the Sydney games in 2004.
Tim was born in 1977 in Walton on Thames in Surrey, and started his career in "paddling" in 1987 at Elmbridge Rowing Club.
As well as doing all of the training necessary to be a world class athlete, Tim has also (somehow) found the time to study and is a qualified doctor, with a degree in medical science from Nottingham.
Tim is based in Nottingham and is a member of the Nottingham and Royal Canoe clubs.
